J BRAND

When denim manufacturer Jeff Rudes teamed up with celebrity stylist Susie Crippen to form J BRAND, the two set out to create a classic and sophisticated jean with an emphasis on fit and one essential mandate: no excess hardware or embellishments. Paying attention to stitching details and clean, dark finishes, Jeff and Susie have created a combination of sexiness and style in a woman's jean while allowing women to feel comfortable. "It's about a woman looking beautiful in her jeans, not the jean drawing attention to her," says Susie.
For that very reason, J BRAND was one of the first denim designers to use XFIT LYCRA® fabric technology in its latest styles. When J BRAND introduced the skinny leg jean, the brand became known as the first American made premium jean driving this new trend. Committed to the collection remaining clean and classic, Jeff and Susie are growing the brand to denim related items such as jackets and fitted shirts, while maintaining its simplistic styling.

SERFONTAINE

Mik Serfontaine, a former rocker turned impassioned denim addict, is regarded as a pioneer in one of the most competitive subcultures of the fashion industry. Mik's passion for vintage denim, and his regular scouring of flea markets for the "perfect pair of jeans," afforded him an intricate understanding of the elements that matter, and after completing design school, Mik had the tools to create and simultaneously break the rules of denim.
Taking inspiration from his vast collection of vintage jeans, and adding his own twist, Serfontaine introduced a signature rope stitching in an array of fashion colors, from pastels to primaries - a first in the marke.WWD has commented, "his passion for denim is extraordinary. This is a guy who's actually been awarded patents on his stitching, fabric washes and designs." Thus, it is no surprise that Mik is one of the first designers in the world to use XFIT LYCRA® fabric technology in his denim, as he continually aims to design and produce denim that's as revolutionary as it is pure.
Serfontaine is available in over 20 countries worldwide including the US, Japan, Italy, UK, France, Spain, Germany and Australia.

MARITHÉ+FRANÇOIS GIRBAUD
-
Marithé and Francois Girbaud met in 1960 and very quickly established an exchange of ideas that resulted in a true complicity of vision. They were the creators of the hugely successful stonewashed process (the natural fading of indigo denim with stones) as well as distressed leather. Constantly experimenting with raw materials and reviewing both structures and shapes, Marithé and Francois discovered new fabrics which enabled them to created new and innovative garments.
The first licensing agreement for stonewashing was signed under the label CA in 1969, and year after year, Girbaud redesign and rethink the jean, inventing new industrial processes and creating new technical designs that are in harmony with morphology and the movement of the body. Intelligent designer jeanswear is at the heart of their design business, and Girbaud were the heralds of the "streetwear" trend in1984-85, the "stretch" launch as early as 1987 and the first "engineered jeans" in 1989, with Metamorphojean
Whatever the style era, their clothes are designed to be long lasting and to fulfill the criteria of comfort, movement, protection, innovation and multi-functionality:
"Clothes made with love… for life"
Girbaud will be selling denim clothing made with XFIT LYCRA®, priced from 160-240 EUR, in multi-brand and exclusive denim stores and boutiques, as part of their A/W ‘07/’08 collections.
